This product is phenomenal and the company responded promptly to my concerns and questions several times. Like other reviewers, we had gunk coming out of the jets of our tub. I spent hours researching and trying every cleaner anyone on the internet ever mentioned. I talked to Kohler, the maker of our Tea for Two jetted tub, various plumbers and authorized Kohler tub service reps, no one had any suggestion other than to follow Kohler’s manual and use Cascade and Clorox to clean the tub’s plumbing weekly. I had been doing that religiously for years but still had a problem. Nothing worked. I even had the water tested by a company that tests municipal swimming pools; to their surprise and mine, the water from the jets tested almost at the legal limit for live contaminants–all they could suggest was to run Clorox through the jet system and leave it in overnight. Desperate, I tried Ahh-some four times in a row and still had gunk. Over several months I ran the Ahh-some cleaning procedure at least 20 times, using half the container. Finally the black/brown stuff became light green/beige. The company said green is good, that the biofilm was gone and that what I was seeing was residue from the actual plumbing system. The company suggested, given the particulars of my tub and water supply, to run Ahh-some with 3/4 cup of baking soda and then to feel safe about using the jetted tub again. The company suggested that after we take a bath with the jets, we add a pinch of Ahh-some and run the jets for 30 seconds to remove any residue for the next 14 baths. This is working. To save others from becoming germphobic maniacs over this gross problem, some suggestions: follow the instructions on the company’s website; call if you need assistance, you’ll get knowledgeable advice. Also note:
–Our problem began when we stopped using the jetted tub frequently for baths due to now-solved health issues. We still cleaned it but since we didn’t regularly take baths with the jets, biofilm started to form. Once we saw the gunk, we stopped using it, exacerbating the problem. The gunk grows when water isn’t regularly run through the jets.
–The company says using Cascade weekly, as per the manufacturer’s instructions, can contribute to some of the buildup, making it harder to remove the biofilm. The company says Cascade, used in dishwashers, is obviously not meant to be a jetted tub cleaner. I don’t know why Kohler continues to recommend it.
–This product is a labor of love. The man who sells it ran a swimming pool business and had the product created because customers asked for it. He markets it because he believes in it, and when you contact the company, he will answer your questions and help you solve even the most annoying jetted tub problem.
I think a lot of women like to luxuriate in a jetted tub and we find it particularly repulsive when our safe haven turns out to be a germ machine. Luckily there is a safe, easy solution. I’m a frequent Amazon customer and reader of customer reviews but I have never taken the time to write one. This product has been so effective, and the company so helpful and informative, that I felt I had to share the solution with others who may be in the same unnerving situation. Try it. You will be happy you did.

This is an amazing product! I have used it to clean our jetted bath and it works VERY well. Its gross mind you… but it works. If you use it in the bath or hot tub I would recommend cleaning the film that collects on the side of the tub immediately because it become rather thick and built up and then harder to remove in one wipe. Also as a side note after cleaning the bath with this and using a cloth to wipe the resulting film I threw the rags i used into the washing machine with other towels and wash cloths and it seems as though the resulting film does not break down very easily in the wash. So I ended up with bits of the nasty film all over our towels and boy it took a lot of washes to finally go away. So my suggestion is use a magic eraser or some kind of disposable cleaning tool to clean up what this stuff leaves behind then throw it away as it did actually ruin a few towels that it would just not come off of.

I have tried EVERY jetted tub cleaner on the market and this is the ONLY one that works! It cleans out the biofilm like no other! Buy the bigger size because if your tub is bad like mine, it will take a lot of cleanings to get everything out!
